Why this work exists
A personal accountability standard
In 2007, our founder Terry Virdell lost his wife seven days after she delivered their third daughter, due to mistakes in her data. The warning signs were there. They never made it up the chain. Rather than walk away from healthcare, he went deeper into it.
He spent the next 15 years building the clinical safety systems that prevent the failure that killed his family. At Providence Health System (2010-2020): real-time alerting for Sepsis, MEWS, CAUTI, CLABSI, and Readmission Tracking, validated in Epic and now standard of care; ICD-10 testing across Epic and 18 billing systems; a Defect Prevention Governance framework that secured $13 million in annual risk avoidance with zero critical defects introduced into production over 15 years. At Opala, the Premera BCBS spinoff (2020-2025): ONC payer interoperability across CMS-0057-F, CMS-9115-F, HTI-1, CARIN Blue Button, and Da Vinci, integrating with Providence, MultiCare, and Navitus PBM.
TAP is the engineering distillation of that work, productized so any healthcare team can run it. Patient data accuracy, governance, and access are not abstract regulatory concerns. They are a moral commitment, rooted in lived experience, applied as testable artifacts.

Your Data Health Inc. is a health-data software company. We build products that help payers, PBMs, digital-health startups, EHR vendors, and individuals meet HTI-1, CMS-9115-F, CMS-0057-F, USCDI v3/v4, HIPAA, and MHMDA requirements: the Xanadu sovereign-data platform and SDK, a privacy enforcement layer, and TAP automated compliance tooling, engineered by senior FHIR and QA expertise so lean teams hit interoperability deadlines without standing up an in-house compliance function.
The standard we hold ourselves to is non-negotiable: zero critical or high defects introduced into production over 15 years under our founder's QA leadership at Providence Health System and Opala. Every TAP audit, remediation plan, and re-scan we ship is built on that defect-prevention discipline.
Rapid AI innovation cannot come at the expense of patient privacy. Our practice applies Privacy by Design (IAPP CIPT framework) and Zero Trust patterns in every pipeline we touch. We use autonomous LLM agents, Python, and synthetic FHIR test data to validate models and conformance, without ever exposing protected health information.
Leadership runs deep. From directing 30+ person QA and automation departments at Providence to ONC payer interoperability delivery at Opala, our team has shipped production healthcare compliance work at scale.
